Post-apocalyptic MMORPG: Radiated Wasteland

Hey ApocHubbers, just got some info on this post-apocalyptic MMORPG:

Pixel Pandemic (http://www.pixelpandemic.net) has announced the post-apocalyptic browser-based MMORPG Radiated Wasteland.

Team-up with your friends to survive the hordes of the post-apocalyptic monsters roaming the Earth on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/RadiatedWastelandGame) or http://www.radiatedwasteland.com.

In a future not far from now, Earth has been set in flames. The once civilized world is now a radiated
wasteland. As a player you are one of the few survivors facing the challenges of a post-apocalyptic world, fighting against radiated ghouls, fierce mutants and merciless raiders. To survive, players must establish their own safe houses, team up with other survivors and scavenge for scarce resources.

The game is being developed by the Copenhagen based Pixel Pandemic. It is a browser based MMORPG featuring a skilltree, perks and fully customizable avatars which can be equipped with any items the players find.

NPCs will engage players in missions which introduce a rich storyline of popular, post-apocalyptic popular culture set in this mutant infested world. Players must explore the wastelands to solve these missions and gather gear and experience to strengthen their character.

The sum of player actions combine into an ever evolving organic virtual world consisting of thousands of tiles. The virtual world is populated by an AI controlled enemy and will facilitate co-op mechanisms know from classic MMORPGs, but yet unseen on Facebook, creating a perfect ecobalance where players must cooperate to defeat the common enemy.

There are very specific rules to the game so be sure to check out the official guide book for it.

Race After 1977: Post-apocalyptic mayhem for iOS platforms (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad)

Formula 1, street racing, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, jet skis, even snowmobiles - think of a motorised vehicle and it's likely been raced on iPhone and iPod touch.

From the site:
Set in a post-apocalyptic world of scorching wastelands and nuclear winter, Race After 1977  will provide hours of fun as you race against your opponents, sliding through sand and ice, slamming opponents out of the way, and jumping onto walls to seize the advantage.
Race After 1977 takes a different approach, focusing on the setting instead of the vehicles themselves.

Opting for a post-apocalyptic stage in which the planet's surface has been ravaged by nuclear blasts and the ensuing fallout, you race to the death in intense competitions between those fortunate enough to have cars.

Developer Xpect Games promises an in-depth Story mode packed with tournaments that flesh out competition between rival post-war factions.

1970s-era trucks, muscle cars, and classic sedans will be available to race in various locales such as dilapidated New York, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

While multiplayer isn't mentioned on the game's official website, hopefully at least local play via Bluetooth or wi-fi is supported. Multiplayer would be ideal.

Race After 1977 will be available for iPhone and iPod touch some time this autumn.

APOX - survival strategy game mad-max style for PC and MAC

Repurposed police cars and a "realistic ammo and fuel supply system" are amongst the post-apocalyptic joys on offer in Apox, an RTS announced today by Indian indie developer BlueGiant Interactive.

Set in a "Mad-Max-esque universe," Apox draws upon the FPS and RPG genres to offer "equipping multiple weapons, weapon drops, and limited ammo" plus a veteran system and unit customisation. Players will be able to "essentially create dozens of unique unit variations" by plonking soldiers in different vehicles. A map editor will be included plus, somewhat unusually for an RTS, multiplayer with up to 32 players.

"We are the first Indian studio to make a game of this quality and scale," BlueGiant CEO Vinnie Reddy declared in the announcement, saying "We are really proud of APOX."
Apox is scheduled for release on PC and Mac in "late 2010."

APOX is a post-apocalytic survival strategy game set in Mad-Max-esque universe. The player takes command of survivors as they battle up to 31 other human (or AI) opponents.

Dead State: Zombie Apocalypse PC Game

Source: Double Bear Productions

Dead State is a compelling, high-tension RPG set at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse - a deadly illness is rampaging through the world, turning those infected into the walking dead. As society is beginning to fall apart, the player must organize a scant handful of allies, working on fortifying a shelter, scouting for food and supplies, making uncertain alliances with others, and attempting to hold together a group as humanity teeters on the brink of extinction. And although the zombies lurk as an ever present threat, the biggest obstacle to the player may just be other humans with the same goal: survival at any cost.
